Our venue rental includes enough beautiful redwood cabins to comfortably house all of our guests. Each cabin has a stone fireplace and four cots with padded mattress. You are welcome to stay with us for as many nights as you are here!

If you are traveling and unable to bring bedding, please indicate this on the RSVP form and we will source blankets and sheets for you. Please bring your own pillow. We will provide the firewood.

We are sorry, but the campground has a no dogs policy.

The cabins are charming and rustic, with shared bathrooms and showers nearby. Note that there is no power in most of the cabins. If you need access to power for accessibility reasons please let us know in the RSVP form under “accessibility info” so we can be sure to accommodate you.

The pathways within the camp are rugged dirt paths. There are path lights connecting the dining and recreation areas and between these structures paths are wider and more well defined. If you have limited mobility please let us know in the RSVP form so that we can put you in a more accessible cabin.

Each grouping of cabins has a central bathroom house with toilets, sinks, and showers with hot and cold water.

Please be aware that there is no cell service at the campground. We hope you’ll enjoy the opportunity to unplug with us :)

If you prefer to stay offsite, there are several hotels in Mendocino which is about 25 minutes away, and more in Ft. Bragg about 45 minutes away.

About the campground

The Mendocino Woodlands was built in the 1930’s by the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal Projects. 46 of these Recreation Demonstration Areas were built in the United States with the Woodlands being the only one built in California, the only one built in a Redwood forest, and one of only two built west of the Rockies. The Woodlands is the only New Deal-era Recreation Demonstration Area that has continuously served its original purpose (group camping and outdoor education) uninterrupted and virtually unaltered since opening in 1938.
